Costa Rica - Tica Linda Honey Coffee
Costa Rica – Tica Linda
Tica Linda is a women-owned project from Costa Rica’s Tarrazú region, where collaboration and precision define each stage of production. The producers behind this coffee bring a level of focus and consistency that continues to shape Tarrazú’s reputation for exceptional quality. Their leadership represents an important evolution within specialty coffee, where expertise and inclusion work together to elevate the craft.
Tarrazú is one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated coffee regions, known for its red clay soil, cool mountain air, and finely balanced microclimates that create remarkable sweetness and clarity. The region holds Denomination of Origin status, a distinction that protects its name and guarantees that every coffee labeled “Tarrazú” truly reflects the land it comes from. It is a mark of authenticity and regional pride, ensuring that quality and character remain tied to place.
This lot is processed by the honey method, a technique Costa Rica helped pioneer. Ripe cherries are de-pulped and laid to dry with a thin layer of fruit still surrounding the seed. As the coffee dries, the remaining fruit sugars slowly caramelize in the sun, creating depth and sweetness while using less water than traditional washed processing. The result is a clean, expressive coffee with deeply sweet notes of dried apricot and simmered pears followed up by a buttery richness in form of caramel and toasted green tea.
The coffee is milled at Beneficio San Diego, a historic facility established in 1888 that continues to lead in sustainability, innovation, and producer collaboration. Its precise approach to processing ensures traceability and exceptional consistency year after year.
Tica Linda reflects the excellence of modern Costa Rican coffee. It is produced with intention, guided by a new generation of women farmers, and shaped by a region whose name has become synonymous with integrity, flavor, and craftsmanship.
