BRAZIL - Mata De Minas Coffee
Brazil – Mata de Minas Coffee Seasonal
Brazil has long been the heartbeat of the coffee world, and within its vast landscape, the Mata de Minas region stands out for its rich diversity and human scale. Tucked within the state of Minas Gerais, this area is defined by its humid climate, shifting elevations, and family-run farms that dot the hillsides. Nearly half of all Brazilian coffee comes from this state, yet most producers here work on plots smaller than 20 hectares, guided by generations of hands-on craft.
This lot is processed using the pulped natural method, known locally as Cereja Descascado. Ripe cherries are sorted, partially de-pulped, and dried with a thin layer of mucilage intact, allowing sugars to absorb into the seed and build depth. The result is layered with decadent chocolate truffle and toffee notes paired with incredible simmered fruit notes including plum and orange marmalade. Grown around 1,200 meters in the Mata de Minas region, this coffee captures the spirit of modern Brazilian specialty coffee: technically precise and naturally sweet.
